As Creative Director, Steffen Ringelmann leads a talented team of architects and interior designers in overseeing the final design aesthetic of all properties within the Fund’s impressive portfolio. An experienced interior designer and carpenter with extensive knowledge of 19th and 20th century design history and theory, Steffen maintains three primary objectives in his role: 1) create refined domestic interiors tailored to the sophisticated tastes of contemporary clients, 2) preserve and enhance the rich intricacies and architectural features of historic homes and 3) add value through smart, creative and expertly crafted designs. Despite the large size of the portfolio, Steffen and his team ensure that every project receives a unique layout, tailored aesthetic and modern amenities for future inhabitants.
While leading the architecture and design team is his primary responsibility, Steffen also acts as a liaison for property analysis and acquisitions, marketing, leasing and construction management to ensure optimal property designs based on overall business needs. Steffen consistently exhibits in-depth knowledge of the metropolitan Real Estate market and boasts a creative mind versed in all facets of architecture, design and construction, including emerging trends, methods and materials. Above all, Steffen has mastered the ability to inspire, empower and lead his team toward a collective goal.
Before joining Dixon, Steffen founded and directed White & Wool, a full-service, Brooklyn-based interior design & build studio specializing in hospitality, retail, commercial and residential environments. In this role, Steffen worked collaboratively with New York City artists and craftsmen in overseeing the renovation and design of restaurants, bars, retail spaces, offices, educational environments and private residences in Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Hamptons and Upstate New York. Prior to founding White & Wool, Steffen established The RAD Gallery to showcase the work of emerging design talent to the international marketplace. Steffen holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Contemporary Design from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Art & Media Studies from Vassar College. Born and raised in San Francisco, Steffen lived in Brooklyn for ten years following his time at Vassar, before recently settling into life outside the city in the Village of Sea Cliff, New York.
